The Short Version
The target is the overreaction, not the pollen.
Allergic symptoms come from an immune response that is out of proportion to the trigger: histamine release, mucosal swelling, and the inflammatory cascade behind both. You cannot remove oak pollen from Sumter County, but the size of the reaction is modifiable.
Acupuncture has been studied in allergic rhinitis with the aim of modulating that immune and inflammatory response. Patients who respond typically report fewer bad days and less reliance on daily antihistamines, rather than the symptom disappearing outright.

What we treat

The list below is where we spend most of our clinical time. Links go to the pages where we go into detail.
How we approach it
What a course of care looks like.
Start before the season if you can
Patients who begin four to six weeks ahead of their usual worst months tend to do better than those who start in the middle of a flare.
Modulate the immune response
Treatment is aimed at the inflammatory response driving the symptoms, with local points for sinus pressure and congestion as well.
Relieve the pressure directly
Sinus pressure and facial pain respond well to local work. This is often the part patients notice first.
Reduce the load you can control
Indoor air, filter changes, and timing outdoor activity matter more here than most people expect. We give practical specifics.
Cost, Insurance and Visits
Allergy and Sinus Relief cost and insurance in The Villages.
What sets the cost
Allergy care is acupuncture based, sometimes with Engystol point injections and a sinus supplement. Acupuncture may be covered; injections and supplements are priced per item.
Insurance
It depends on the therapy. Acupuncture visits are covered by many insurance plans and we check yours before the first appointment. Shockwave, laser, injections, peptides and NAD+ are self pay, and you will know the price of each before you agree to it.
How many visits
Seasonal plans run weekly through the worst weeks, then taper. Chronic sinus cases need a longer series.
Your first 20 minute consultation is free, and no referral is needed. Call 352-430-2720. Insurance and payment details.
