The supplement aisle is full of products that do not contain what they claim. We carry professional grade, clinical quality formulas and recommend them based on your individual needs, not a sales target.

Why It Matters

Not all supplements are equal.

Professional grade supplements are held to a higher standard for purity, potency, and consistency than what you find on a store shelf. When a formula is meant to support recovery, sleep, or inflammation, it has to actually contain what the label says, in a form the body can use.

We recommend specific formulas based on your condition and goals, and only when they add something to your plan. This is a clinical recommendation, not an upsell.

Why It Matters

What separates practitioner grade from retail.

Supplements are loosely regulated, which means the label and the contents are not always the same thing. This is the part most patients have never been told.

Brands built for clinicians

We carry pharmaceutical grade lines, formulated and manufactured to standards retail products are not held to. Supplements are loosely regulated, and independent testing has repeatedly found retail products that are underdosed or do not contain what the label claims.

The form actually matters

Two bottles can list the same nutrient at the same dose and deliver very different results, because the form determines whether you absorb it. Magnesium oxide versus glycinate, folic acid versus methylfolate, cyanocobalamin versus methylcobalamin. Cheap forms are cheap for a reason.

Dose that reflects the research

Many retail products contain a long ingredient list at doses too low to do anything, because a crowded label sells better than an effective one. Clinical formulas are dosed at the levels used in the research behind them.

No fillers, binders, or dyes

The lines we carry leave out the fillers, binders, and artificial dyes that pad out retail products. Better raw ingredients and better absorption, which matters for anyone sensitive or taking several supplements at once.

How We Choose

A recommendation, not a shelf.

Most people arrive taking somewhere between four and twelve things, half of which were suggested by an article, a friend, or an advertisement, and few of which are being evaluated for whether they are still needed.

Dr. Cheshire reviews what you are already taking alongside your history, your symptoms, and your medications. Often the useful outcome is subtraction rather than addition, discontinuing what is redundant or unnecessary before adding anything.

Interactions get checked. Supplements interact with prescription medications, and some of those interactions matter. St. John's wort, high dose vitamin K, and certain botanicals can meaningfully affect how a medication behaves. Bring your full list, prescriptions included.

We would rather have you taking three things that are doing something than ten you are guessing about.

Common Questions

Supplements, answered.

You can, and some retail products are fine. The issue is that you cannot tell which ones from the label. Supplements are loosely regulated, and independent testing regularly finds products that are underdosed, use poorly absorbed forms, or do not contain what they claim. The pharmaceutical grade lines we carry are made to clinical standards, with no fillers, binders, or dyes, better raw ingredients, and better absorption.
Call us at 352-430-2720 and we will let you know what makes sense. Our preference is that a recommendation come from an actual review of your situation rather than a guess, because that is the entire point.
Yes, and this is one of the more valuable things we do. Bring everything you are taking, prescriptions included. Frequently the outcome is removing what is redundant or unnecessary rather than adding more.
Yes, and some of those interactions are significant. Certain botanicals affect how medications are metabolized, and vitamin K affects blood thinners. This is exactly why a full list matters, and why we review it before recommending anything.
Yes. We offer lab test review consultations, where Dr. Cheshire goes through your existing bloodwork with you and explains what it indicates. It is often the most direct way to determine what you actually need rather than guessing from symptoms alone. Bring recent labs from any provider.
It depends on what is being addressed. Correcting a clear deficiency can produce noticeable change within a few weeks. Support for a longer term goal is measured over months. If something is meant to work quickly and has not after a fair trial, we stop it rather than continuing out of habit.
Yes. Our office is at 910 Old Camp Road in The Villages, and we see patients from Lady Lake, Wildwood, Oxford, Fruitland Park, Leesburg, and Summerfield.
