The Short Version

Tendons do not heal by waiting.

A muscle strain settles in weeks. A tendon injury often does not, because tendon has poor blood supply and a slow repair cycle. That is why the same elbow or heel can hurt for a year while everything else gets better on its own.

Our job is to give that tissue a reason to remodel: mechanical stimulus to the tendon, better local circulation, and a loading plan you can actually follow. Then we protect the rest of the chain so the next thing does not break down instead.

How recovery actually goes

What a course of care looks like.

01

Find the failing tissue

Shoulder pain can be tendon, joint, or neck. Heel pain can be fascia, nerve, or fat pad. We test until the painful structure is identified, because the treatments are not interchangeable.

02

Stimulate repair directly

Shockwave gives tendon a controlled mechanical stimulus. Laser and LED support cellular energy in the tissue. Injections can release a trigger point that is keeping the area guarded.

03

Load it, do not baby it

Once pain is under control, tissue needs graded load to remodel. You get two or three specific movements, not a printout of twenty.

04

Return to the court on purpose

We plan the return: what you play first, how long, and what soreness means. Going back at full speed is how most people re-injure.

Cost, Insurance and Visits

Sports Injury Recovery cost and insurance in The Villages.

What sets the cost

Injury plans combine acupuncture, shockwave, laser and sometimes peptides, each priced on its own. The exam decides which ones the injury needs.

Insurance

It depends on the therapy. Acupuncture visits are covered by many insurance plans and we check yours before the first appointment. Shockwave, laser, injections, peptides and NAD+ are self pay, and you will know the price of each before you agree to it.

How many visits

Fresh injuries often need only a few visits. Lingering ones run a weekly series with a return-to-play plan between them.

Your first 20 minute consultation is free, and no referral is needed. Call 352-430-2720. Insurance and payment details.

Questions

Straight answers.

For a fresh strain or sprain, once acute swelling has settled — usually a few days to a week. For an injury that has already lasted more than six weeks, sooner is better than later.
Usually not entirely. We often reduce volume rather than stop, because complete rest tends to leave tendon weaker than when you started.
Yes. We treat active adults of every age, including working-age athletes and weekend runners.
Often yes. Shockwave is most useful in chronic tendon problems that have stopped responding to rest and stretching. See our shockwave therapy page.
